Room of the Dead
By: Kevin Magnus
Emotions flow in the room of the dead,
The tears flow while bibles are read.
They stand in a circle around the body at rest,
As they try to come to term that this is for the best.
Emotions flow in the room of the dead,
Where people cry and final prayers said.
They speak to the body as if it were still alive,
While they wait for the coroner to arrive.
Emotions flow in the room of the dead,
With a body that rots in a cold hard bed.
They all begin to leave one at a time,
While signing an unforgettable rhyme.
Emotions flow in the room of the dead,
Now alone in the room, as nothing else can be said.
It was something about that face--I had to move in and see,
When I looked down upon it, I couldn't believe...that it was me!
